Day Trading. Powered by AI.
A new approach to automated day trading.
StockHero is excited to introduce Agentic AI Pi4 Day Trader, the latest addition to our growing family of Agentic AI trading strategies.
Developed after nearly a year of research, architecture design, model development and extensive testing, Pi4 represents a fundamentally different approach to automated AI trading. Rather than attempting to predict every short-term movement in the market, Pi4 focuses on a simple but powerful question:
Is this stock more likely to finish the trading day higher than where it opened?
The model then turns that prediction into an automated trading decision.
A Different Way to Think About AI Trading
Short-term trading is incredibly challenging. Markets can change direction rapidly, volatility can appear unexpectedly, and opportunities that exist one moment can disappear the next. Trading the news is just a toss of the coin at best.
Many automated strategies therefore focus on generating multiple signals throughout the trading session.
Pi4 takes a different approach.
Instead of continuously searching for entry and exit points, the model makes a daily directional assessment of a selected stock. When its analysis meets the strategy’s criteria, Pi4 enters at the market open and manages the position during the trading session.
By default, the position is automatically closed at the end of the trading day or when the Take Profit/Stop Loss condition is met.
The result is a simple trading framework:
Pi4 AI model analyzes and decides. StockHero executes.
Pi4 is designed to deploy 100% of the bot’s allocated capital to a single position.
The position closes the same day or at determined TP/SL level. TP and SL = 1%.
Note: Users will not be able to disable the automatic closing of positions at end of standard trading hours.
Built for Daily Directional Prediction
At the core of Pi4 is a clearly defined prediction objective:
Predict whether the stock will close the regular trading session above its opening price.
This may sound simple, but consistently making this prediction requires the model to process and interpret extensive historical and market data.
During its six-month testing period, Pi4 achieved win rates between 40% to 70%, while annualized performance varied significantly depending on the underlying stock and market environment.
Across the stocks evaluated during testing, annualized yields (APY) ranged from approximately 10% to 70%.
These results should not be interpreted as a guarantee of future performance. Like all AI strategies, Pi4’s results can vary as market conditions change.
For this reason, StockHero recommends evaluating Pi4 over a meaningful period (at least 2 months) and across a sufficiently large number of trades rather than judging the strategy based on a handful of individual results.
No Overnight Exposure by Default
One of the defining characteristics of Pi4 is its same-day trading horizon.
When a trade is opened at the market open, Pi4 is designed to close the position at the end of the trading session, regardless if the position is in profit or loss.
This means that, under the default configuration, users do not carry the position overnight.
Avoiding overnight positions can reduce exposure to events that occur while markets are closed, such as unexpected company announcements, earnings surprises or overnight market movements.
However, same-day trading does not eliminate risk. Stocks can experience significant price movements during regular trading hours, and a losing trade can still result in a loss. Pi4’s 1% stop loss level helps to prevent substantial loss from occurring.
Regular Trading Hours Recommended
Pi4 supports both Regular Trading Hours and Extended Hours execution.
For the regular trading hours, Pi4 enters positions at the official market open (930am ET) and exits at the end of the regular session (4pm ET).
Pi4 also supports Extended Hours execution beginning from 6am ET.
Based on our testing, Regular Trading Hours produced stronger results and therefore represent the recommended configuration.
However, extended trading sessions generally have different liquidity and price characteristics compared with regular market hours. During testing, when Pi4 was configured to trade both Extended Hours and Regular Trading Hours for the same stock, the results could sometimes offset each other. For example, a position opened during Extended Hours may incur a loss while a position opened during Regular Trading Hours generates a profit, resulting in little or no net effect. Conversely, both positions could be profitable, which would compound the overall gains, or both could be unprofitable, which would compound the losses.
A Curated Selection of Stocks
Pi4 is not designed to trade every stock available on the market.
The quality and consistency of the underlying data are important components of any AI-driven model. StockHero therefore launched Pi4 with a curated selection of stocks that meet our requirements for data quality, trading history and liquidity.
The supported universe may change over time as StockHero continues to evaluate the model and expand its dataset.
Pi4 Is Not Designed to Win Every Trade
One of the most important things to understand about Pi4 is that its objective is not to achieve the highest possible win rate. In fact, its win-rate hovers between 10% to 70% depending on the traded stock.
An AI trading strategy does not necessarily need to win every trade to generate positive returns. What matters is the relationship between winning and losing trades, the magnitude of those outcomes, the consistency of the strategy and its ability to perform across different market conditions.
Pi4 is therefore designed around the idea of finding a statistical edge derived from modelling years of data, rather than attempting to eliminate losing trades.
The objective is not:
“Can AI predict every trade correctly?” (now this would be impossible)
It is:
“Can AI make sufficiently good directional decisions over a large number of trading sessions?”
Agentic AI Pi4 vs. Pi2 and Pi3
Pi4 is part of the Agentic AI family, but it is not simply a higher or lower version of Pi2 and Pi3.
Each model has a different trading philosophy.
Agentic AI Pi2 is designed with a more conservative approach and places greater emphasis on stability.
Agentic AI Pi3 is designed for more active trading and seeks opportunities at a higher frequency, making it suitable for traders looking for a more dynamic AI trading experience. At the moment, Pi3 has the best Win Rate performance compared to the other strategies.
Agentic AI Pi4 Day Trader takes a different approach altogether. It is specifically designed around daily directional prediction, with one primary trading decision per stock per trading session and no overnight position by default.
In other words:
| Strategy | Primary Approach | Trading Horizon | Position Style |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pi2 | Conservative AI | Short-mid-term | Stability-focused |
| Pi3 | Active AI | Short-term / higher frequency | More active |
| Pi4 Day Trader | Directional AI | One trading day | Day trading |
Rather than asking which Pi model is “best,” users should consider which trading philosophy best fits their objectives, risk tolerance and preferred trading style.
How Long Should You Run Pi4?
The Pi4 AI strategy should be evaluated over a sufficiently large sample of trades.
A strategy can experience an unusually strong or weak period simply because of short-term market conditions. Therefore, StockHero recommends allowing Pi4 to run for at least two months before making a meaningful assessment of its performance.
When evaluating Pi4, we recommend looking beyond win rate alone.
Key metrics include:
- Total Return (most important evaluation metric)
- APY
- Performance across different market conditions
The Next Step in StockHero’s AI Evolution
With Pi4, StockHero continues to push automated trading beyond traditional rule-based strategies.
The goal isn’t to create an AI that claims to know exactly what the market will do next.
The goal is to build increasingly sophisticated models capable of identifying opportunities, and then allowing automation to execute those decisions with discipline and consistency.
StockHero aims to be Platform for High-Performant AI Trading Strategies.
Agentic AI Pi4 Day Trader is built around one decision, one trading session and one objective:
Predict the day. Trade the day.
Pi4 is now available on StockHero for supported stocks and on our Web App. Mobile app support for Pi4 will be available in the near future.

Risk Disclosure
Agentic AI Pi4 Day Trader involves substantial investment risk. The strategy can generate losing trades, experience drawdowns and may result in the loss of some or all of the capital allocated to the bot.
Historical, simulated, backtested or live-testing performance—including win rates, APY, returns and other performance statistics—is not a guarantee or indication of future results. Actual performance may differ materially due to changing market conditions, volatility, liquidity, spreads, slippage, commissions, execution timing, brokerage limitations and other factors.
Pi4 is designed to allocate 100% of the bot’s available capital to a single position when a qualifying trading signal occurs. Users should therefore understand the concentration risk associated with the strategy. Although Pi4 is designed to close positions within the same trading session and avoid overnight exposure by default, intraday price movements can still result in some losses.
Trading and investing decisions remain the sole responsibility of the user. StockHero does not provide investment, financial or trading advice and does not guarantee any particular level of performance or profitability. Users should carefully consider their financial circumstances, investment objectives and risk tolerance before using the strategy and should only allocate capital they can afford to lose.
